Research Notes on Yellow Dock
Yellow dock is a plant that is sometimes used in alternative medicine.1 Although commonly considered a weed, the root is cultivated and available in capsule, tincture, tea and dried herb forms.1 Yellow dock is commonly used by herbalists to treat blood and liver conditions as well as for overall health.2
Fast Facts:
- Also used as a laxative.3
- Side effects can include nausea, abdominal cramps, and sometimes arrhythmia.4
- Death has been reported from eating large amounts of fresh yellow dock roots and leaves.4
