Research Notes on Weed Pollen Allergy
Weeds are the most common cause of a pollen allergy. Most people suffer from ragweed allergies more than any other weed, up to 75 percent.1 Other weeds that produce pollen include cockleweed, goosefoot, nettle, sagebrush, and more.2 See our slideshow on the most common allergies for more information on other allergies.

- The weed pollen allergy season in the United States runs from April to November in the West, May to October in the Midwest, April to October in the South and Southeast, and May to September in the Northeast.3
- The most common symptom suffered by persons with weed pollen allergies is hay fever (sneezing, itchy, watery eyes, nasal congestion, and runny nose).4
- Treatments for weed pollen allergies include allergy skin test, allergy medication, and staying indoors during allergy season when the pollen count is high.1
