Research Notes on Duct Tape and Wart Removal

Warts are generally painless, noncancerous, and usually disappear on their own. Treatments are rarely needed; nevertheless, they are done for cosmetic purposes and to prevent spreading. The first line of treatment is usually done at home. One remedy is the use of tape occlusion (duct tape); it does not allow reproduction of the warts with its airtight environment. The process takes about 1 to 2 months. A doctor should be consulted before doing occlusion therapy.
