Research Notes on Volumetrics
Volumetrics is a diet that allows people to consume large amounts of food, a long as they are low-density foods, like non-starchy vegetables and broth-based soups. The trick is to fill up on foods that aren't high in calories, eat more healthy foods, and still be able to achieve weight loss.
Fast Facts:
- It was created by Barbara Rolls, Ph.D., a nutritionist and professor at Penn State University.1
- This diet program is similar to the Pritikin Diet in that it also promotes eating fruits and vegetables.2
- Volumetrics relies heavily on foods with high water content such as fruits and vegetables. 1
