Research Notes on Vitamin D in Foods
The best sources of vitamin D are fortified foods. Very few foods naturally contain this vitamin. Dietary sources include cod liver oil, fish, eggs, beef liver and Swiss cheese. However, humans do not get all the needed vitamin D supply from dietary sources. Vitamin D supplements should be taken to meet the recommended daily intake to prevent vitamin D deficiency and its complications.
