Research Notes on Vitamin D and Lung Cancer
A study suggests that vitamin D decreases the risk of death from lung cancer. It was found that those who underwent surgery during the summer and with high vitamin D levels had 72% 5-year survival rate as compared to 29% in those who had the lowest levels of vitamin D and had winter operations. The combination of sun exposure and high vitamin D intake from diet and supplements can increase the survival rates among lung cancer patients.
