Research Notes on Vitamin D Daily Allowance
Vitamin D (calciferol) can be found in dietary sources such as fish, eggs, fortified milk, and cod liver oil. The recommended daily allowance (RDA) for individuals below the age of 50 is 5 micrograms (200IU) and for older adults 50-70 years old, it is 10 micrograms (400IU). Vitamin D should not be taken in doses larger than 2,000IU daily as toxicities can occur.
