Vitamin C allergy refers to the body having an allergic reaction when it encounters vitamin C.1 Symptoms include: indigestion, diarrhea, vomiting, and nausea, among others.1 Iron poisoning can also occur from ingesting large quantities of vitamin C because it enhances iron absorption in the body.1

- Vitamin C was thought to cause kidney stones, due to the absorption of iron.1
- Dental erosion can occur from chewing on vitamin C tablets excessively.2
- Injected vitamin C may cause dizziness, faintness, injection site discomfort, and kidney problems in high quantities.2
