There is no specific treatment for viral gastroenteritis. Antibiotics are not as effective against viruses and antibiotic overdose will only contribute to the development of these viruses. The goal of treatment is to prevent dehydration. Provide more fluids and electrolytes (salt and minerals) to replace water loss in the body.
