Research Notes on Varicella Vaccine Schedule
The varicella vaccine is typically administered when a child is around 12 to 15 months. The second dose is usually given between the ages of 4 to 6 years of age, or at least 3 months after the first dose, per the schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics and American Academy of Family Physicians.1 Your doctor or local health department can advise the recommended schedule for your child.2
