Research Notes on Vaginal Spotting

Vaginal spotting is when there are "spots" or stains, these are usually brown or pink in color. After sexual intercourse, there is sometimes a little vaginal spotting as this is a result of cervical irritation. Vaginal spotting is also fine at the early stages of pregnancy mostly at the time of your regular menstruation, this is a sign that an embryo has implanted itself in your uterus. On the other hand, vaginal bleeding can mean a number of pregnancy complications, usually this is colored a bright red meaning that the blood is fresh. See also spotting.
