Research Notes on Vaginal Rejuvenation
Vaginal rejuvenation involves removing extra vaginal tissue with a laser or traditional scalpel and then rebuilding the canal so it is tighter.1 While marketed as "rejuvenation" this procedure does not return your body to a younger state.2
Fast Facts:
- Doctors say many of the women who have had the procedure done reported better sexual feeling, or greater satisfaction from their husbands.3
- Vaginal rejuvenation is not a solution for sexual dysfunction, lack of interest or arousal, or orgasmic inadequacy.4
- The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) has warned against vaginal rejuvenation procedures, saying these methods are unproven and potentially risky.5
- The cost of vaginal rejuvenation from quotes online range from $5500 to $8500. Unless this procedure is medically necessary insurance companies usually will not cover the cost of the surgery.2
