Researchers at the University of Michigan have reported positive results in the development of a vaccine for urinary tract infections (UTIs). The clinical study is currently being performed on mice, and the vaccine does appear to prevent infection and produced key types of immunity.1 Researchers are hoping the vaccine will go to phase 1 clinical trial in humans and be available to the market in two to three years.2
