Lyrica (pregabalin) is an effective pain reliever. Doctors primarily prescribe it to treat fibromyalgia, diabetic peripheral neuropathy (diabetic nerve damage), and postherpetic neuralgia (post-shingles nerve pain) in adults. Lyrica is also used as in treating some types of epilepsy.1
