Research Notes on Umbilical Cord
The umbilical cord is the cord that connects the fetus or embryo to the placenta. The umbilical card contains two arteries and one vein. The arteries and vein are buried with Wharton's jelly.1 After birth, the umbilical cord is clamped and cut off.2
