Acne is a common disease, which causes pimples.1 Pimples occur when hair follicles become clogged up, and most often appear on the face, neck, chest and back.1 Although acne can affect anyone, it is most common in teens and young adults.1

- Is not a serious disease, but can cause scarring.
- Those suffering from acne should avoid the sun and touching their face, and keep the area clean.1
- The exact cause of acne is unknown.
- Things that have been blamed for, but generally do not cause acne, include chocolate and greasy foods.1
