There are many ongoing studies to find the cure for type 1 diabetes. The American Diabetes Association has contributed 42.5 million dollars to diabetes research. Their goal is to find breakthroughs that can help prevent, treat, and cure diabetes.1

- Because of research there are improved blood glucose monitors, better insulin, and improved insulin delivery systems such as the insulin pump.3
