A recent report published by the Public Library of Science's Journal of Neglected Tropical Diseases states that diseases that are usually commonplace in third world nations appear to also be common among the United States poor. Around 36 million people live below the poverty line in the U.S. which increases their chance of contracting a tropical disease. Chagas disease, dengue fever and toxoplasmosis are just a few of these rampant diseases.
