Research Notes on Warkany Syndrome 2
Warkany syndrome 2, or mosiac trisomy 8, is a chromosomal disorder caused by having three copies (trisomy) of chromosome number 8 in some cells of the body (mosiacism). Symptoms are extremely variable, but may include mental retardation, abnormal facial or skeletal anomalies, congenital heart defects, and kidney problems. Fetuses with full trisomy 8 -- rather than the mosiac version -- do not survive to full term.
