Tricor is a brand name for the drug fenofibrate. Tricor is a medication used to reduce triglycerides and cholesterol levels in the blood.1 For complete information, see the fenofibrate WisdomCard. Fast Facts:
- Tricor also increases good cholesterol, known as HDL.
- The most commonly reported side effects include headaches, abdominal pain, runny nose, and chest congestion.2
- Tricor should be taken whole. Never crush, chew, or take a tablet that has been accidentally broken. 3
- The FDA has given Tricor a pregnancy category C rating.4
