Research Notes on Tremor
A tremor is an involuntary, rhythmic, shaking movement that occurs when muscles repeatedly contract and relax.1 A small degree of tremor is not unusual, is normal and can be too slight to be noticed.1 Stress, fatigue, and other health issues use can make a normal tremor more noticeable.1
Fast Facts:
- There are more than twenty types of tremors with essential tremor being the most common.2
- There is no cure for most tremors and appropriate treatment is based on the underlying cause.2
- Although tremor is not life-threatening, it can be embarrassing to some and inhibit daily activities.2
