Research Notes on Trazodone Warnings and Precautions
Patients should discuss all warnings and precautions associated with trazodone with their physician before beginning the medication. Patients who suffer from bipolar disorder or schizophrenia, who have a history of drug addiction or suicidal thoughts, or who have recently suffered a heart attack may not be candidates for trazodone use. It is recommended that trazodone be taken with a meal or snack, and patients should be aware that the medication can cause impaired thinking or delayed reaction times.1
