Research Notes on Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulator

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation, often referred to as TENS, is considered a method of pain relief. A Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulator device or "TENS unit" produces electrical signals to stimulate the nerves. The unit is attached to unbroken skin in the affected area by electrodes. Frequency and intensity of stimulation is controllable.
