Research Notes on Toxic Shock Syndrome from Sinus Infections
New research shows that sinus infections cause over 20% of toxic shock syndrome (TSS) cases in children. Toxic shock syndrome is commonly associated with tampon use during a woman's menstrual cycle. TSS is caused by toxins and can cause rash, fever, and rarely, death.1
