Research Notes on Timolol
Timolol is a non-selective beta blocking agent which comes in oral and opthalmic form. In its oral form, timolol is used to treat high blood pressure, heart attacks and migraine headaches. In opthalmic form, it is used to treat glaucoma.
Fast Facts:
- Oral form of timolol is sold under the brand name Blocadren.
- Opthalmic form is sold under the brand names of: Betimol, Istalol, and Timoptic.
- Serious side effects can occur with use of timolol, so one must be under physician supervision.
