Research Notes on Thorazine
Thorazine is a brand name for the drug chlorpromazine. This drug can be used to treat schizophrenia and for the hyperenergetic phase of a bipolar disorder. Thorazine is given in liquid concentrate form or tablet form.1 For complete information, see the chlorpromazine WisdomCard.

- Each dose of Thorazine concentrate should be diluted in a beverage, such as a soda or juice.1
- Thorazine should not be used in the treatment of people with dementia.2
- Side effects may include drowsiness, hematological disorders, agranulocytosis, or tardive dyskinesia.2
- Experiencing side effects from Thorazine is more likely in older adults.3
