Research Notes on Thalidomide Children Pictures
These children were nicknamed for the drug their pregnant mother's took to help them sleep. They were conceived in the between April 1,1961 and March 22,1962, while this drug was available on the market. Thousands of babies were born with flipper-like hands and feet.1
Fast Facts:
- World-wide, there were 6,000 thalidomide births.1
- Babies were born blind, with cleft palates, no ears, missing hips and poorly developed lungs and spleens.1
- A lot of the children died during their teen years.1
