Terbutaline is both a treatment and preventative medication for many lung related ailments, including asthma, bronchitis and emphysema. In some cases, it is also utilized in the treatment of preterm labor. An estimated 34.1 million Americans have been diagnosed with asthma. In addition, it is estimated that as many as ten percent of women will suffer from preterm labor.
