Research Notes on Late Insomnia


Late insomnia -- also called terminal insomnia, sleep-offset insomnia, or end of night awakening -- is a type of insomnia where you wake up too early and cannot fall back asleep.1 This type of insomnia is often associated with depression and stress.1 It is also common among older people.2 Like any other type of insomnia, late insomnia results in daytime drowsiness, poor concentration, and the inability to feel refreshed and rested in the morning.3
