Research Notes on Swimming Pool Granuloma
Swimming pool granuloma is a condition caused by the organism Mycobacterium marinum. They manifest as a cluster of erythematous papules or nodules, which are found on the elbows, knees, feet and hands. Lesions appear after an incubation period of about 2-4 weeks. Antibiotics and avoidance of contaminated water will help manage the condition.

- The growth of Mycobacterium marinum is inhibited above 37°C.2
- Infection often follows abrasions to an extremity occurring in nonchlorinated water.3
