Research Notes on Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation was created in her memory in 1982 by Nancy Brinker, Komen's sister. Susan G. Komen was diagnosed with cancer and died in 1980, 3 years after her diagnoses. Komen has more than 75,000 volunteers nationwide — 122 affiliates in the United States (47 of 50 states) and 3 in other countries, and is the largest nonprofit funding source for breast cancer in the world
