Possible side effects of sulindac include upset stomach, mild heartburn, diarrhea, constipation, bloating, gas, dizziness, headache, nervousness, dry mouth, increased sweating, runny nose, and blurred vision. If any of these symptoms become bothersome, talk to your doctor. There is a chance of serious side effects such as chest pain, slurred speech, problems with vision or balance, black, bloody, or tarry stools, coughing up blood, vomit that looks like coffee grounds, decrease in urination, nausea, low fever, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice, bruising, severe tingling, numbness, pain, muscle weakness, and severe blistering, peeling, and a red skin rash that occurs with fever, sore throat, and headache. If you experience any of these serious side effects, you should stop taking sulindac and call your doctor.1

- While taking sulindac, seek immediate medical care if you experience symptoms of an allergic reaction such as swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, hives, or difficulty breathing.2
- When serious side effects occur, it is usually associated with higher doses.3
- Sulindac should be avoided by people with peptic ulcer disease, poor kidney function, or a history of exacerbation of asthma, hives, or other allergic reactions to aspirin or other NSAIDs.3
