Research Notes on Stress and Cholesterol
Recent research has shown that there may be a link in how well a person handles stress and their cholesterol levels.1 People with higher levels of stress have been found to also have high cholesterol.1 This stress raises the amount of total cholesterol.1
Fast Facts:
- People who deal with stress well have higher levels of "good" cholesterol.2
- "Good" cholesterol is HDL cholesterol or high-density lipoprotein.2
- "Bad" cholesterol is LDL cholesterol or low-density lipoprotein.2
