Stenosing Tenosynovitis, also known as trigger finger or trigger thumb, is a disorder that occurs when one of your fingers or your thumb gets stuck in the bent position. This condition can cause extreme pain. When the flexor tendon, which controls the opening and closing of the finger or thumb, becomes inflamed or damaged it causes stenosing tenosynovitis. Treatment for stenosing tenosynovitis will vary depending on the severity.
