Research Notes on Sphygmomanometer
A sphygmomanometer, also called a blood pressure meter, blood pressure gauge, or blood pressure monitor, is a device used for taking blood pressure readings. There are two types of sphygmomanometers: manometric, which is the most accurate, and digital, which digitally reads blood pressure. A sphygmomanometer usually consists of a pump, dial, cuff, and valve.1
