Sparfloxacin

Sparfloxacin is an antibiotic that is used to treat bacterial infections.1 It is most commonly used to fight infections of the respiratory tract, particularly those occuring in the lungs.2 The most common side effects associated with sparfloxacin use include: diarrhea, nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and upset stomach.2 Sparfloxacin can have negative interactions with various drugs including corticosteroids, glyburide, probenecid, and warfarin, as well as those containing metal cations (drugs which include aluminum, calcium, iron, magnesium or zinc).3

  • Skin rash or vaginal discomfort should be promptly reported to your physician.2
  • Should not be used in children under the age of 18 or in pregnant women unless the benefit clearly outweighs any potential risk to the fetus.3
