Research Notes on Soybeans and Flavonoids
The flavonoids in soybeans are called isoflavones. According to research isoflavones may be beneficial for reducing cholesterol levels, prevention of osteoporosis, and helping alleviate menopause symptoms.1 Soybeans are also a good source for omega 3 fatty acids, fiber, and vitamin B2.2

- Soybeans are a type of legume and are the most widely used legume in the world as well as the best researched for their health promoting benefits.2
- Flavonoids are found in other types of foods as well, these include apricots, pears, black beans, cabbage, onions, parsley, pinto beans, and tomatoes.3
- Flavonoids have important antioxidant properties and are beneficial for helping with inflammation.3
