Soy products are rich sources of isoflavones, an estrogen-like substance found in plants. A diet high in soy may help to decrease the symptoms of menopause in some women. Studies have shown that Asian women have far less symptoms than that of women in other parts of the world due to the fact that they eat a diet rich in isoflavones.
