Soriatane is a brand name for the drug acitretin. It is classified as a retinoid,1 which is a form of vitamin A.2 Soriatane is used to treat severe psoriasis in adult patients.2 For complete information, see the acitretin WisdomCard.
Fast Facts:
- Women who are pregnant or plan to become pregnant within a three year period should never take this medicine. Soriatane can be harmful to the fetus.3
- It is recommended that all women take a pregnancy test at regular intervals throughout treatment.3
- Both men and women should refrain from donating blood for three years after treatment with soriatane is completed.3
- This medicine can cause liver disease.3
