Research Notes on Small Penis Syndrome
The term small penis syndrome has been described as men who have excessive anxiety about the size of their penis and who have a clinically average sized penis. The researchers who first coined "small penis syndrome" suggest that it could be part of obsessive thinking, body dysmorphic disorder, or a larger psychosis.1
Fast Facts:
- 85% of women are pleased with their partner's penis proportions.2
- The average erect penis size is about 5.5 to 6.2 inches long and 4.7 to 5.1 in circumference at midshaft.2
- A micropenis, which is a different condition, is less than 2.75 inches long when erect.2
