Research Notes on Sinus Pressure
The pressure and pain that are commonly felt when you suffer a sinus infection, common cold, or allergies is called sinus pressure.1 Mucus is often trapped within the sinuses when they become inflamed or infected.1 Air can also become trapped inside the sinuses by thickened mucus causing sinus pressure.2
Fast Facts:
- To reduce sinus pressure, try using a humidifier or vaporizer.3
- Sinus rinses can also help to drain mucus reducing sinus pressure.3
- Over the counter medications such as Mucinex or related products can help to rid the body of excess mucus.3
