Research Notes on Shingles and Elderly
Shingles can occur at any age though, it is more common among older adults ages 60 and above. The symptoms of shingles can be harsh to them and can cause severe disability. In order to help them, the national government promotes the use of zoster vaccine (Zostavax) to reduce the risk of shingles and associated pain in elderly.
