Shingles Vaccine

The Centers for Disease Control recommends a single dose of the shingles vaccine for those over 60 years of age.1 The vaccine will not treat the disease. It is used to help prevent shingles. Those who have had the vaccine but still develop shingles are less likely to develop the complications of shingles.2
