Shellfish Allergy

In a shellfish allergy, the protein in the flesh of shellfish normally causes the allergic reaction; however an allergic reaction to shellfish to the skin and bones can also occur. Symptoms of an allergic reaction can range from hives, vomiting or nasal congestion to more-severe and even life-threatening symptoms like anaphylaxis.
