Research Notes on Sexual Abuse
Sexual abuse refers to any sort of unwanted sexual conduct or activity between two or more people. Sexual abuse can be a one-time random act, or an ongoing situation, and can be perpetrated by strangers or someone the victim knows. Victims can include men and women, children and elders. The effects of sexual abuse range from the physical to the emotional and psychological.
