Sex addiction symptoms will vary for each individual and often develop in different stages over a period of time.1 Sex addicts tend to be controlling and lack any real intimacy in their relationships. A person who has a sexual addition has an unusually intense sex drive or an obsession with sex.2
Fast Facts:
- Sex addiction can lead to more severe actions from a sex addict such as rape and molestation, however there are drugs available that can curb these urges.3
- Approximately eight-two percent of sex addicts were victims of child sexual abuse.4
- Overcoming sexual addiction requires accepting and admitting there is a problem, counseling, support groups, and sometimes medication.3
