Service dogs can provide bipolar sufferers with the emotional support of providing and receiving affection from the animal.1 Bipolar service dogs are trained to retrieve items such as medication and the telephone, as well as dial 911 if needed.2

- In order to qualify for a service dog, the person must have a recognized disability.2
