Research Notes on Septorhinoplasty
Septorhinoplasty is a surgical cosmetic procedure that combines rhinoplasty and septoplasty.1 In this surgery, your doctor will pair a cosmetic alteration of the shape and appearance of your nose with correction of a deviated septum.1 Septorhinoplasty is highly individualized which makes the combined procedure more complex than the individual procedures alone.1 Following surgery, your doctor will ask you to wear a nose splint for one week and limit activities.1
Fast Facts:
- Septorhinoplasty can help correct recurrent nosebleeds, chronic sinusitis, and sleep apnea.2
- Septorhinoplasty does not require the uncomfortable nasal packing common in nasal surgeries of the past.3
- Insurance companies typically pay for the non-cosmetic, health-related part of the surgery.3
