National ADHD awareness is celebrated in the month of September to promote information and education for ADHD. The U.S. Senate passed a resolution proclaiming September 18th as National ADHD Awareness Day. ADHD is a neurobehavioral disorder which causes symptoms of hyperactivity, inattention, and impulsivity.1
Fast Facts:
- National ADHD week is September 14th to 20th.1
- Approximately three to five percent of children in the United States are diagnosed with ADHD.2
- The three main subtypes of ADHD include predominately inattentive type, predominately hyperactive-impulsive type, and combined type.3
