Research Notes on Sepsis
Sepsis, also known as systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), is a serious condition caused by the body's response to infection. Sepsis can lead to widespread blood clotting and inflammation which may result in septic shock and multiple organ dysfunction.
